A lot of people know my family. The Gutierrez family is obviously one of the most filmed or photographed because a lot are in show business.
I’m not an actress. I’m not a singer. I don’t manage talents. And if you’re reading this blog, I’m sure you’re probably wondering what is it that I do anyway.
As of the moment, I’m finally a full-time mom—and I say that with so much pride and joy. 🙂 I’m very passionate about my children’s well-being, and I work hard every day to make sure they grow up to be socially aware, good people. I want them to grow up in a world where they are aware of what is happening, and make it a better place. Part of the reason why I left my banking job is that I wanted to spend more time with the people I love, experiencing every good thing that life has to offer.
This is why it may surprise you to know that I’m a free spirit. I can honestly say that I can live anywhere in the world! I spent my younger years in Bacolod. There was a time when I studied in Texas, and I was able to explore more of the US. I’m in love with Houston, and I love the vibe in cities like Los Angeles. I had also lived in Cebu when I was managing our bed and breakfast. And now, I am living in Manila with my family.
I was inspired to start this blog because of my children. Life is so much more than just shuttling between work and home every day. Being a new mom in this age means getting a taste of so many more experiences with family and friends. There are so many things I want to talk about and learn about, like healthy living, modern parenting, financial literacy, things I enjoy and whatnot.
Most of all, through this blog, I want to share with you the experiences we have as a family, the places we go, the things we learn, the challenges we face. I’m no longer content sitting in a desk chair for eight hours a day when there’s an exciting world out there.
My parents were scuba divers. My dad was a dive instructor. We would hop in our car, and we would be in Dumaguete most weekends scuba diving. Growing up, I was able to live in different places and meet different people from various cultures. It was a thrilling experience, and I think I am a bohemian of experiences.
My mom taught us meditation at a very young age. It was important for her that we learned how to find a deeper sense of spirituality in the midst of our everyday experiences.
When my kids grow up, I hope that they know that as their mom, I did my best to give them a greater perspective of the world. I hope that through my example, they are also inspired to get more out of life.
Someday, I hope that I will be able to reach my dreams and do things that give my soul purpose and happiness. This blog will help me look back on the steps that are going to take me there, and I’m really glad to have you along for the ride.
